Sacraments

Baptism
The sacrament of Baptism is administered during Mass each month except during Advent and Lent. Parents attend one class prior to the Baptism. If you are pregnant, planning adoption or have a new baby, please contact the Parish Office to arrange for these classes and to schedule a date for Baptism.

RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for anyone 7 or older seeking to be baptized and/or enter into the Catholic Church or for adult Catholics seeking completion of the Sacraments of Initiation (e.g., Confirmation or Eucharist). The Church welcomes those who want to join themselves to Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. We also welcome Christians from other Christian denominations who, already baptized, wish to complete their sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Programs begin in the Fall of each year to assist parents in preparing their children for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.  All children in second grade and up are invited to prepare for these sacraments.  Parent training is provided, as well as child/parent workshops.

Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered each Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the Reconciliation room located in the church or contact the pastor to schedule an appointment

Confirmation
The Confirmation program includes participation in the Parish Youth Program, retreats and social justice activities. Classes are held for youth and their parents. Youth are expected to enroll in the junior high religious education program or Catholic school as pre-Confirmation preparation prior to enrolling in the Confirmation program.  Minimum age for enrollment is freshman year.  See more information under FAITH FORMATION.

Marriage
Those wishing to be married should contact the pastor one year before the planned wedding. Couples participate in the Prepare Program and attend a weekend retreat before the marriage. The liturgical minister assists in preparing the liturgy and selecting music . The sacrament of matrimony is not celebrated during Advent or Lent.  Please see our wedding planning booklet and hall rental information under Resources

Vocations
The Vocations Committee fosters vocations to priesthood, diaconate and religious life. The Committee meets three times a year.  More information on vocations can be found at the Archdiocesan website: archspm.org.

 Anointing of the Sick
The sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is provided for all in any danger of death, even remote.  Call for the priest to visit and anoint when appropriate. There are also special services of Anointing of the Sick in church periodically. Watch the schedule of events in the spring and fall.
