What is the Faith Community Nurse Ministry?
The Faith Community Nurse Ministry at Corpus Christi Church is a health ministry that encourages people’s physical, emotional, spiritual and social well being in the context of their relationship with God, family and neighbor.  The ministry addresses needs and identifies resources that nurture wellness and involve individuals as active partners in their health management.

Who is the Faith Community Nurse?
A Faith Community Nurse is a registered nurse who is a member of the parish staff and is committed to the healing ministry of the Church.  The Faith Community Nurse is assisted in this ministry by a health and wellness committee and numerous parishioners who share their time and talent.

What does the Faith Community Nurse do?
Health counseling
Meets with parishioners to assess health problems
Makes home, hospital and nursing home visits
Provides blood pressure screening

Health education
Coordinates classes and support groups on a variety of topics
Assists parishioners toward healthy living by providing health resources

Liaison with parish programs and community organizations
Connects parishioners to existing programs
Acts as a referral source

Clarifier of faith/health relationship
Offers presence and prayers during times of crisis and celebration
