Faith Formation Ministry Opportunities
Faith Formation Committee – Participate in development, long-range planning and implementing policies for all programs. Meets 3-4 times a year.
Adult Faith Formation Committee – Participate in development and implementation of Adult Faith Formation programs in the parish.
Pre-School /Elementary Catechist – Teach children about the Catholic Faith from provided curriculum.
Adult Mentor - Mentor teen-aged catechists for Sunday School.
Sunday School Aide – Grade 7 or older. Help with Sunday School. Work with a Sunday School catechist in preparing and working with Sunday School children
Junior High - Adults teach children Grades 6 through 8.
Substitute Catechist - Fill in for Faith Formation teachers when they are unable to attend class.
Special Education – Provide 1-1 teaching for special needs children. Classes meet in conjunction with Sunday School and Junior High schedules.
Early Childhood Volunteer – Care for young children while parents participate in discussion sessions. Teens and/or adults.
Confirmation - Adults prepare youth for Confirmation.
Confirmation Teen Mentor – Senior High students to mentor Confirmation students.
Confirmation Prayer Partner – Pray for student. Attend one evening of prayer with students.
Senior High – Adults lead discussions for Grades 10 through 12.
Facilitate Adult Faith Formation – Lead small groups or teach a topic.
Protection of Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) Volunteer – Teach Safe Environment materials to children and teens during Faith Formation classes.
Bible Study
Tuesday – Parish Center – 10 am
Wednesday – Parish Center – 8:30 am Study Sunday readings with Fr. Frank
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) Sponsor: Accompany candidates and catechumens through initial period of conversion.
Special Events – Coordinate refreshments and contact volunteers for special events such as Confirmation events, family nights, etc.
Pancake Breakfast – Assist with Pancake Breakfasts.
Advent Brunch – Youth Grades 6 through adults to cook, serve and clean up. Held in mid-December.
Bake Sale – Assist with annual Sunday School Holiday Bake Sale that is held in conjunction with Advent Brunch.
